August
2013
Dear Club Secretary,
I have pleasure in enclosing our latest Newsletter, together with
details of the end of season Premier League Premiership Team knockout and a request for agenda items for our October meeting. The final invoice for match fees is also
enclosed and payment is requested by the 30th
September.
The details of the presentation evening are given below and I hope all
clubs will be represented on the evening.
The dates for the qualifying games of the Premiership Team Knockout,
which will be conducted again on a “free” draw basis (Pool A Top 6 and Pool B
Bottom 8), are Wednesday 25th September & Wednesday 2nd
October. If your green is not
available on any of these nights, please return the enclosed
notification form to me as soon as possible. The draw for each Pool will be
made after the final night of matches on the 20th September. The
draw will be available to view on the internet (www.spbl.co.uk/PoolA_PoolB2013.htm
). If your club would to be notified by text of your club’s fixture, please
send a text to 07973479662 and I will text you when the draw has been
made.
2013 Presentation Evening
The 2013 presentation of prizes will be held at Archibald Worthington Bowling Club on Friday 18th
October and will commence after the conclusion of the finals of Pool A
& Pool B in the Premiership competition.
Four 8 a side
teams will be represented on the night and a buffet will be provided on the
evening.
I have been requested to allow Simon Davies to transfer to Wrockwardine
Wood and play for them in the remainder of the 2013 season. Simon has not
played any Premier League matches for Hadley USC this season, but the request
was after the 30th June deadline.
League Match rules No. 4 states:-
“No player shall be permitted to sign for more than one club playing in the league other than in the following situations:
Where a player who has signed for a club for which he has not played
may apply to the Management Committee for approval to transfer to another club
but this application must be made by the 30 June.
Where a player moves to another area within the league he may apply to
the Management Committee to transfer at any time before the 31 August provided
that no more than 5 games have been played for his previous club.”
As Simon has not “moved areas”, strictly speaking he is not allowed to
play for another Premier League club this season, after the 30th
June date, but Hadley have no raised no objections to the transfer and if no
other club raises an objection, I would be willing to sanction Wrockwardine
Wood’s request. Please advise me by Saturday 31st August if your
club has objections to Wrockwardine Wood’s request.
